Geological: Copper is one of the 103 elements that make up all matter. It conducts heat and electricity and is essential for almost all electrical uses. Not many elements are found in their uncombined or pure states. Usually there are too many other substances present at the time of their formation with which they can combine. Native copper is found in ancient lava flows. It is abundant in this form only in Michigan. Nuggets form this deposit carried south by the glacier were scattered across the north-central states and were used by the Native American Indians for the manufacture of copper artifacts. This native copper has been melted in a hot furnace and sculpted into these interestingly shaped pieces.

Metaphysical: Copper aids the treatment of arthritis, bursitis and rheumatism. It also combats lethargy, improves mental focus, brings good luck, and balances emotions.
