Gemstones and crystals have been used for thousands of years in many healing rituals all over the world. Gemstones and crystals carry energy that can positively influence our physical body, our emotions, and our spiritual body. How can an inanimate object have energy, you ask? Well, let's get back to basics. Everything on Earth is made up of atoms. Atoms vibrate. This vibration equals energy. Therefore, everything on Earth has energy. Think of one of the most basic of all vibrations that has a profound effect on most of our lives - sound. We react daily to sound; loud noises, a phone ringing, our name being called, a lullaby being sung. The phone rings and you pick it up, your name is called and you turn toward the sound, something startles you and you jump, children quiet at the sound of a soothing singing voice. You are reacting to the vibration of sound. This also works with color. Think of how you feel toward certain colors. You react to their vibration depending on your mood and need for their vibrational influence. You may despise green because of a green dress you were forced to wear as a child. You may love blue because it reminds you of a lake you loved as child. Think of the way color influences your daily life. You may wear red to an important meeting because it signifies power. Or you wear light colored clothing on a hot day to feel fresh. The same works with stones. Every stone carries a vibration that effects us in some way. It may help to relieve stress, or cause us to feel more grounded. A stone can reduce pain, or bring about self-confidence. It's just a matter of learning which stones carry which vibrational patterns. |
